Many customers and colleagues want to know why we have canceled our
boat show season. January 2011 my wife Amy fell and suffered a serious
head injury that required brain surgery to remove a baseball size blot
clot. She was in a coma for several weeks and the prognosis was not
favorable. She spent 3 months in the hospital and 2 of those months
went without communication of any kind or use of both arms or left leg.
I conducted business from the hospital daily while our production manager
filled orders. When she returned home the hard work began. She needed
90% of my assistance for all task. Speech, ocupational and physical
therapy continued daily. She was fortunate to retain all past memory
and the same sense of humor those of you who know her look forward to
when speaking with her. Today she is talking with few deficits, full
use of right hand and leg, 60% use of left arm and leg and walks with
a cane. Only 25% of my assitance is needed now. With more hard work
and Amy's stubborn attitude we are hopeful for a full recovery. I would
like to personally thank those of you who check on her status and offer
assistance if needed. You never know when a freak accident will occur
to you or a loved one so be sure you have good insurance as this is
quickly approaching $400k.
